This is a remote role with significant travel required, primarily in the Mid-West and East Coast regions, with some West Coast locations.


What you will do


Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, you will facilitate communication between customers and mill operations to enhance customer value, ensuring products meet or exceed expectations. You will plan and coordinate trials for new products, analyze and troubleshoot customer conversions, and promote waste reduction to build loyalty and strengthen relationships with select customers.


Customer Relations


  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations on quality, assessments, or efficiency issues to decision-makers at customer headquarters or divisions.
  • Assess customer accounts for opportunities to improve quality, service, cost, and efficiency.

Customer Focus and Services


  • Assist customers with implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Facilitate Kaizens and conduct manufacturing assessments to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Support customers in executing improvement initiatives and developing strong relationships.
  • Identify and communicate barriers impacting customer retention and satisfaction.

Internal Technical Support & Services


  • Investigate complaints, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Act as a customer advocate within the mill, ensuring customer needs are understood and met.
  • Participate in product development and trials, coordinating across teams.

Leadership


  • Guide customers and internal teams, fostering technical skill development through training and mentoring.
  • Provide honest feedback on product quality and performance.
  • Lead by example with high integrity and trust.

Communication


  • Maintain regular technical and customer communication with mill personnel.
  • Represent the voice of the customer internally and contribute to strategic planning.

What you will need


  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 7 years of technical or sales experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of SBS folding cartons and Food Service, with cup experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to develop new processes and participate in continuous learning.
  • Willingness to travel frequently by air and car, including international trips.
  • Physical capability to handle equipment, samples, and perform exertion as required.
