Job summary

Talent Wave Associates in the United States, Missouri, Kansas City area, is seeking a technically skilled support specialist to deliver efficient assistance and drive packaging performance improvements for customers.

You will diagnose and repair packaging equipment, train customers, perform audits, assist startups, and contribute to field trials, with substantial travel (about 60%).

Qualifications

• Technical degree required.
• 3–5 years of experience in the food packaging industry (materials & machinery).
• Willing to travel 60% or more and hold a valid driver's license.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as a safety leader and prioritize safety in all responsibilities.
• Service customer equipment to maintain optimal performance of packaging films and shrink bag materials.
• Identify and communicate machinery and packaging film/shrink bag problems to appropriate staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely reports on work activities and time utilization.
• Perform package/shrink bag and machine audits on packaging machines.
• Assist in the installation and start-up of packaging equipment.
• Provide input into the design, installation, and start-up of packaging equipment from outside suppliers.
• Schedule own time and travel, determining priority of customer calls.
• Conduct training for customers on proper operation and maintenance of equipment and film.
• Assist on projects and take the lead on smaller tasks within overall projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements related to products and equipment issues.
• Service customer equipment to maintain optimal performance of packaging films and shrink bag materials.
• Identify and communicate machinery and packaging film/shrink bag problems to appropriate staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely reports on work activities and time utilization.
• Perform package/shrink bag and machine audits on packaging machines.
• Participate in field trials of new packaging materials.
• Assist in the installation and start-up of packaging equipment.
• Provide input into the design, installation, and start-up of packaging equipment from outside suppliers.
• Schedule own time and travel, determining priority of customer calls.
• Conduct training for customers on proper operation and maintenance of equipment and film.
• Assist on projects and take the lead on smaller tasks within overall projects.
• Establish and maintain effective relations with customers, sales personnel, and internal staff.
• Complete KMS reporting, expense reports, and weekly schedules within designated time frames.
