Job summary

Catalyx is seeking an experienced Technical Service Engineer to support, troubleshoot, and maintain process automation systems in manufacturing facilities. The role acts as the primary technical resource for customers, ensuring uptime and optimal performance of automation equipment.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues across electrical, mechanical, and software domains, performing preventive maintenance, and training staff on operations. Travel and safety compliance are also required.

Qualifications

  • Required: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting industrial automation systems within manufacturing environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for PLCs, HMI, SCADA, and electrical schematics.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Service Engineer tosupport, troubleshoot, and maintain process automation systems withinmanufacturing and industrial facilities. The successful candidate will serve asthe primary technical resource for customers, ensuring optimal performance ofautomation equipment, minimizing downtime, and delivering exceptional customersupport.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnoseand resolve electrical, mechanical, controls, and software issues onautomated manufacturing equipment.
  • Performpreventive and corrective maintenance on PLC, HMI, SCADA, and industrialcontrol systems.
  • Supportprocess optimization initiatives to improve equipment reliability,productivity, and efficiency.
  • Conductsystem upgrades, retrofits, and software modifications as required.
  • Interpretelectrical schematics, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control narratives.
  • Troubleshootcommunication networks including Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, and otherindustrial protocols.
  • Provideemergency field support and technical assistance to customers.
  • Documentservice activities, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
  • Trainoperators, maintenance personnel, and customer staff on equipmentoperation and maintenance procedures.
  • Collaboratewith engineering, project management, and customer teams to ensuresuccessful project execution.
  • Maintain compliance with customer safetyrequirements and company policies.
Requirements

Required

  • Associate'sor Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering,Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 3+years of experience supporting industrial automation systems withinmanufacturing environments.
  • Experiencetroubleshooting PLCs such as:
  • Knowledgeof HMI and SCADA platforms.
  • Strongelectrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Abilityto read electrical drawings, schematics, and process documentation.

Preferred

  • Experiencewith batch processing, chemical processing, food & beverage,pharmaceutical, or packaging operations.
  • Experiencewith VFDs, servo systems, robotics, and motion control.
  • Understandingof ISA standards and industrial networking.
  • OSHAand industrial safety training.
