Job summary

Crayola is seeking a Technical School Co-Op in the Easton/Bethlehem area to learn and support maintenance on manufacturing equipment. You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance while aligning with Crayola’s goals and priorities.

The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and collaboration with seasoned technicians. Applicants must be enrolled in a technical high school, maintain a C or better grade average, and be at least 16 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Support production maintenance on all machines safely and timely to minimize downtime.
  • Read schematics and diagrams to determine assembly methods and sequences.
  • Inspect parts for defects and verify dimensions with precision tools.
  • Align and assemble component parts using hand or power tools.
  • Maintain inventory and documentation for EMAINT system.
  • Communicate with supervisors and fellow technicians to ensure specs are met.

Technical School Co-Op, Easton/Bethlehem, PA
GENERAL SUMMARY

Acquire skills to troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment. Performs all duties and responsibilities associated with a manufacturing maintenance team while focusing on Crayola's goals, objectives and priorities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support production maintenance on all machines in a safe and timely manner with the goal of minimizing downtime.
  • Read schematics, diagrams, W/O to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
  • Inspect parts for surface defects
  • Verify part dimensions to ensure specifications are correct using a precision measuring tool
  • Align, fit, or assemble component parts, using hand or power tools.
  • Establish and maintain inventory, records, or documentation systems (EMAINT)
  • Consults with technicians/machinist to ensure that the equipment or systems meet design specifications.
  • Communicate with supervisors by providing necessary information.
  • Organize and prioritizing work by developing plans and goals to accomplish work.
  • Perform the duties of the assigned mentor/supervisor in their craft.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.
  • Comply with federal and state hazardous waste regulations including proper handling, storing, labeling, and familiarity with Crayola's Emergency Action Procedure in the event of a spill or leak.
  • Documents activities accordingly as required by Co-op program.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
  • Must be enrolled at a technical high school.
  • Must follow all safety policies.
  • Must have a good command of the English language both written and verbal.
  • Must maintain a C or better grade average.
  • Regular and predictable on-site attendance.
  • Must be minimum 16 years of age.
  • Electrical rated Safety Shoes.
