Position: Technical Sales Representative
Location: West Coast
Summary Of Position
We are seeking a highly motivated, technical and dynamic Sales Representative to drive growth in our tablet tooling, compression and encapsulation machine portfolio. The ideal candidate will act as a consultant to tablet manufacturers, helping them optimize their solid dose production through superior tooling design and high-performance press machinery.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Sales Generation: Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities for customized tablet tooling (punches and dies), tablet presses, turret upgrades, as well as parts and accessories within an assigned territory.
- Technical Consultation: Analyze customer production challenges and provide engineering-based solutions, advising on tablet design, tooling materials, and machine settings for future needs as they scale and different needs arise.
- Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with procurement officers, production managers, formulation scientists, and maintenance directors at customer sites as an advisor and solution for all tooling and machine needs.
- Demonstrations & Presentations: Conduct on-site demonstrations, technical presentations, and virtual meetings to showcase the capabilities of compression machinery.
- Territory Management: Plan and execute a sales strategy to meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Account Management: Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction with products and provide, or coordinate, technical support for equipment installation.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activities, new product launches, and industry trends (e.g., bilayer technology, high-speed production) to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Reporting: Utilize CRM systems to track interactions, update project pipelines, and document sales forecasts accurately.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 2–5+ years of B2B technical sales experience, preferably in industrial machinery, pharma packaging, or solid dose processing equipment.
- Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical principles, manufacturing processes, and familiarity with industry trends.
- Communication: Proven ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Travel: Ability to travel extensively (up to 50–70%) within the assigned territory.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with tablet press, die, or punch design software (CAD).
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, formulation, or QC environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g. Monday.com).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods during trade shows or factory visits.
- Capable of touring manufacturing facilities and occasionally assisting with, or inspecting, equipment in a production setting.
