THE POSITION

As a Technical Sales Manager, you will achieve sales objectives for our single cell RNA sequencing products through new business development and managing existing customer accounts. You will develop and execute sales strategies across academic, biotech, and pharmaceutical sectors, working closely with Field Application Scientists and team members. Candidates should possess strong technical and sales skills, develop customer relationships, and have a drive to overachieve. Gaining a deep understanding of the single cell market and Parse's products is essential for success.

TERRITORY AND TRAVEL

You should be based in Seattle, WA or the San Francisco area, covering North Bay, California, Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Travel (fieldwork) is approximately 50% of the time.

IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL

  • Generate and manage high-volume and complex sales
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and rapid experimental progress
  • Develop and grow repeat business and maintain strong relationships
  • Prospect to generate sales pipelines for immediate, medium, and long-term goals
  • Negotiate and close deals with minimal discounting
  • Communicate technical advantages effectively
  • Develop quarterly and yearly business plans
  • Prioritize and qualify inbound leads
  • Provide insights on competition, market trends, and customer feedback
  • Manage sales funnel accurately
  • Leverage Field Application Scientists and prospecting specialists to support sales
  • Use CRM tools to track deals
  • Continuously develop technical knowledge on emerging single cell research
  • Forecast sales in your territory
  • Maintain professionalism internally and externally

FOR THIS POSITION, WE LOOK FOR

  • Bachelor's in biology/genomics or related field; Master’s or PhD is a plus
  • At least 3 years of relevant sales or channel management experience, preferably in Next Sequencing, genomics, or single cell analysis
  • Previous molecular biology lab experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, locally, nationally, and internationally

COMPENSATION

  • Base salary + uncapped quarterly commissions
  • First quarter commission guarantee for new hires
  • Salary varies based on experience and skills
  • Discretionary time off and December holiday break
  • Monthly car allowance and stipends for internet and cell phone
  • No out-of-pocket travel expenses (flights, hotels, rentals)

  • Regular virtual communication via Zoom, messaging, email
  • Travel for client visits, conferences, and training at Seattle headquarters; flexibility required

Market Pay Range: $205,000—$250,000 USD, depending on skills, education, and experience.
