Job summary

CECO Environmental in Clearwater, FL, seeks a Technical Sales Engineer to design and optimize water treatment systems (RO/UF/filtration) and support business growth. You will analyze water data, perform startup and training, and troubleshoot equipment while building strong customer relationships.

The role requires 5+ years in water treatment, a related engineering degree, and ability to travel up to 50%. You’ll collaborate across teams and contribute to project success at CECO’s global water

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Civil, or related engineering.
• Minimum five years in water treatment or related technical role.
• Experience with commercial/industrial water treatment systems.
• Startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specs.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and size water treatment systems (RO, UF, filtration, softening).
• Analyze water quality and develop treatment solutions based on customer requirements.
• Perform startup, commissioning, optimization, and operator training.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, process, and operational issues.
• Prepare technical reports, commissioning documentation, and recommendations.
• Interpret P&IDs, drawings, and technical schematics.
• Serve as a technical resource during meetings, site visits, and evaluations.
• Develop relationships with customers, distributors, engineers, and channel partners.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Operations to support project execution.
• Maintain accurate project records in company systems.
