Hired is seeking a senior process-safety leader to drive process-safety implementation across refinery operations in the United States. The role serves as a subject-matter expert for risk methodology, regulatory interpretation, safety standards, and major risk studies.

You will develop capable process-safety engineers, build expertise in HAZOP, LOPA, HAZID, and related practices, design risk-training programs, and drive audits and risk-management-plan compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• 16+ years of direct process-safety or related experience.
• Experience leading complex unit HAZOPs and management-of-change activities for chemical/oil/gas operators.
• Experience conducting LOPA analyses and translating results into SIL requirements.
• 10+ years in oil & gas or petrochemical with certification, consequence-modeling, fire-hazard analysis, QRA, facility siting, bowtie, HAZID, and PSM experience preferred.

We are seeking a senior process and technical safety leader to guide process-safety implementation across refinery operations and support policy development. This role serves as a subject-matter expert for risk methodology, regulatory interpretation, safety standards, technical assurance, and major risk studies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead process safety as a technical competency across refinery operations, including methodology development, code interpretation, and industry-policy representation.
• Develop capable process-safety engineers and build risk-methodology expertise in HAZOP, LOPA, HAZID, and related practices.
• Design, deliver, and maintain risk-training programs for site personnel and provide quality assurance for site deliverables.
• Champion risk standards, including process-hazard-analysis requirements and risk-management-plan compliance.
• Conduct or coordinate centrally managed third-party studies, such as facility-siting and fire-hazard analyses.
• Drive and support process-safety-management assurance audits.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 16 years of direct process-safety or closely related experience.
• Experience leading complex unit HAZOPs and management-of-change activities for a chemical, oil, or gas operator.
• Experience conducting LOPA analyses and translating results into safety-integrity-level requirements.
• At least 10 years of oil-and-gas or petrochemical experience, functional-safety certification, consequence-modeling software, fire-hazard analysis, quantitative-risk assessment, facility siting, bowtie, HAZID, and project PSM experience are preferred.
