Johns Manville, a leading manufacturer of insulation and roofing products, seeks a Technical Representative to support Sales by providing installation training, field inspections, and product demonstrations near the Tacoma/Seattle area. Travel to customer sites is required.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or roofing experience, strong communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 3 years roofing-related experience preferred.
• Low slope commercial roofing experience preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills required.

Responsibilities

• Work with Sales Representatives to grow sales by providing installation training and field support.
• Perform inspections of field applications and educate contractors to protect JM guarantees.
• Demonstrate new products to owners, specifiers and contractors to build confidence and repeat purchases.
• Conduct training seminars for owners, specifiers and contractors.
• Maintain relationships with Johns Manville approved contractors and field personnel.

Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.The Technical Representative will be responsible for working with Sales Representatives to grow guarantee and product sales by providing installation training, job support services and inspections.The ideal candidate will be near Tacoma/Seattle area.Your Day-to-Day:Performs inspections of field applications by Johns Manville approved contractors in a way that protects JM yet encourages contractors to repurchase from JMDemonstrates new products to owners, specifiers and contractors that have the confidence to buyResponsible for improving JM owner relationships while solving guarantee claims issuesConducts training seminars for owners, specifiers and contractorsMaintains and builds relationships with Johns Manville approved contractors field personnelMay be required to perform other related duties as assignedWhat You Bring to the Team:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 3 years of roofing related experience.Low slope commercial roofing experience preferred.Proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsExperience giving presentationsProven problem resolution skillsAbility to learn other applicable software applications i.e., Guarantee Management SystemProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, OutlookProven ability to negotiateAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externallyHeavy car travel within the territory is required, with 5-7 overnight stays per month on averagePrimary work environment is typically in the field at a customer s facility or on a job site; may be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust mist gas fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc.Must be able to drive a vehicle and carry a valid driver s licenseMay be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 25 poundsPlease Keep in MindIf you do not meet 100% of these requirements, we at JM still want to hear from you.
