About the Role

The Technical Quality Assurance Inspector III is responsible for performing inspections of manufacturing goods during the manufacturing process and at completion. The inspector conducts visual, detailed dimensional, and electrical inspections of individual items, sub‑assemblies, or final system assemblies. The inspector interprets complex prints, manufacturing drawings, diagrams, wire cards, and lists to approve or reject in‑process or final assemblies, ensuring compliance with stringent industry standards and certifications. The role also supports root‑cause analysis of non‑conformances and continuous improvement activities, documents inspection results, maintains accurate records, and communicates findings to stakeholders and management. The inspector assists in drafting work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and provides guidance and mentorship to Level1‑2 inspectors, supporting internal and external audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and certifications (NASA, IPC).
  • Document inspection results, maintain accurate records, and communicate findings.
  • Assist in drafting work instructions and SOPs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Level1‑2 inspectors.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Participate in root‑cause analysis of non‑conformances and continuous improvement activities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Typically 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Progress toward multiple NASA and IPC industry standard certifications.
  • Completion of basic GD&T training.
  • Understanding of technical schematics and documents.
  • Understanding of electrical wiring concepts.
  • Functional use of Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to understand and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
  • Experience drafting work instructions and SOPs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
  • Advanced certifications in quality assurance or inspection (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Technician, Certified Quality Engineer, or Certified Quality Inspector).
  • Certifications in IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 and IPCJ‑STD‑001.
  • Working toward Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma certifications.
  • Proficiency with standard inspection tools and equipment.
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) techniques and data analysis.
  • Basic familiarity with non‑destructive testing (NDT) methods and equipment.
  • Experience with quality management software and databases (e.g., SAPQM).
  • Basic knowledge of electrical testing equipment and techniques (oscilloscopes, multimeters).
  • Experience in a regulated industry such as aerospace or defense with AS9100 standards.
  • Proven ability to provide technical guidance to LevelI and II inspectors.
Compensation

Pay range: $27.34 – $37.61 per hour. Base compensation is determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on job‑related knowledge, skills, education, experience, internal equity, and market competitiveness.
