Job summary

Rite-Hite seeks a Technical Publication Specialist to elevate technical documentation. You will write, edit, and format owner and installation manuals, translating complex engineering content into clear visuals and text.

Collaborate with engineers, product marketing, and sales to ensure accuracy and consistency across documents. Ideal candidates have a 4-year degree in technical writing or related field and 5+ years of experience with InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in technical writing, publishing, communications, or related field
• 5+ years of experience writing or editing technical documentation
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings for technical audiences
• Excellent grammar, detail orientation, and organization
• Experience with style guides, templates, version control and file management
• Experience in visual formatting and graphic design for technical content
• Bonus: structured authoring tools and translation/vendor coordination

What You\'ll Do

As a key contributor in our Technical Publications group, you'll:

• Write, edit, and format technical documentation including owner and installation manuals


• Transform complex processes and engineering content into easy-to-follow visuals and text


• Work with subject matter experts across engineering, product marketing, and sales to ensure accuracy and clarity


• Ensure consistency across documents by applying established templates, standards, and regulatory guidelines


• Drive content quality and user experience with a focus on clarity, reuse, and translation-readiness


• Coordinate regional versions and translations to support our growing international footprint

What You Bring

We\'re looking for someone with:

• A 4-year degree in technical writing, publishing, communications, or a related field


• 5+ years of experience writing or editing technical documentation


• Strong hands-on experience with Adobe InDesign and the Adobe Creative Suite


• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and communicate with technical audiences


• Excellent grammar, attention to detail, and organizational skills


• Experience working with style guides, templates, version control, and file management best practices


• Experience in visual formatting & graphic design for technical content

Bonus points if you\'ve worked with:

• Structured authoring tools, XML/HTML


• Employee or product safety regulations (e.g., ANSI, CE)
