Job summary

Rite-Hite, a global leader in loading dock and door equipment, seeks a Technical Publication Specialist to elevate our technical documentation. You will write, edit, and format owner and installation manuals, translating engineering content into clear visuals and text and collaborating across engineering, marketing, and sales.

You’ll ensure consistency with templates and standards, while driving quality and translation readiness for an expanding international footprint.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year degree in technical writing, publishing, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience writing or editing technical documentation.
• Proficient with Adobe InDesign and the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and communicate with technical audiences.
• Excellent grammar, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

What You’ll Do

• Write, edit, and format technical documentation including owner and installation manuals

What You Bring

• A 4-year degree in technical writing, publishing, communications, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience writing or editing technical documentation
• Strong hands-on experience with Adobe InDesign and the Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and communicate with technical audiences
• Excellent grammar, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Experience working with style guides, templates, version control, and file management best practices
• Experience in visual formatting & graphic design for technical content

Bonus points if you’ve worked with:

• Structured authoring tools, XML/HTML
• Employee or product safety regulations (e.g., ANSI, CE)
• Video or animation software and solutions
• Translation vendors or international documentation
