Job summary

Rincon Research Corporation seeks a Technical Publications and Business Development Manager to lead TechPubs and BD Ops. The team publishes technical communications for DoD and national intelligence projects, with responsibilities spanning proposals, manuals, user guides, and training materials.

The role requires at least 10 years of experience with 5+ in management, a TS/SCI clearance, and strong writing, proofreading, and collaboration skills. Onsite work at Rincon facilities is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Scientific & Technical Communication, Technical Writing, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience with 5+ in a management/supervisory role.
• Experience balancing leadership with hands-on execution.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Proficiency in Windows environment.
• Ability to translate complex information into audience-appropriate products.
• Strong writing fundamentals and proofreading skills.
• Willingness to work onsite at Rincon facilities.
• Familiarity with SharePoint, GitLab, or similar systems.
• Familiarity with PDF manipulation in Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Familiarity with graphic tools (Photoshop, Visio, Gimp).
• Familiarity with Linux command line.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Business Development Operations center and teams.
• Oversee creation of market surveys, white papers, and proposals from bid decision through award.
• Produce and maintain documentation suites including user guides and manuals.
• Develop technical briefings, reports, and marketing materials for high-performance hardware.
• Collaborate across software and engineering projects to deliver documentation sets.
• Manage calendars, tracking sheets, and other administrative tasks.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate team members.

A successful candidate for the Technical Publications and Business Development Manager position will:

• Have at least 10 years of experience, with at least 5 of those in a management or supervisory role.
• Become the working manager of the Business Development Operations center, leading teams on the generation of Federal Government market surveys, white papers, and proposals from bid decision through award.
• Excel at performing production edits and proofreading (including self-editing); be receptive to constructive feedback on writing, editing, and a variety of technical topics; and have impeccable attention to detail.
• Integrate into various teams to collaborate on software and engineering development projects to produce and maintain full suites of documentation products, including user guides, quick-start guides, training materials, hardware supplements, software and maintenance manuals, and test plan and procedure documentation.
• Work on technical briefings, technical reports, manuals, and marketing materials for high-performance electronic hardware.
• Operate in an interrupt-driven environment, manage concurrent tasks, wear many hats, and perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining calendars and tracking sheets.
• Supervise, direct, train, mentor, and evaluate team employees.

What required background will make you successful?

• Current TS/SCI security clearance
• Bachelor’s Degree in Scientific & Technical Communication, Technical Writing, or related writing or technology-oriented discipline

• Ability to assimilate complex information quickly and translate it into appropriate products for the intended audience

• Familiarity with SharePoint, GitLab, or similar configuration control and document management systems
• Familiarity with manipulating PDF files in Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Familiarity with graphics-development tools, such as Photoshop, Visio, Gimp, etc.
• Familiarity with Linux command line and environment

Where is the position located?

This position can be located in our Centennial, CO; Chantilly, VA or Tucson, AZ Headquarters. This role requires onsite attendance without any remote work.

*The likely salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
