Job summary

Rincon Research Corporation is seeking an experienced Technical Publications and Business Development Manager to lead the TechPubs & BD Ops team. The role focuses on producing federal government market surveys, white papers, and proposals from bid decision through award, while integrating with software and hardware development teams.

Required are a TS/SCI clearance, U.S. citizenship, and a Bachelor's degree in a technical writing discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the TechPubs & BD Ops team as working manager educating proposals & white papers.
  • Oversee production edits, proofreading, and self-editing with attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with software & engineering teams to document user guides, manuals, and test procedures.
  • Prepare technical briefings, reports, manuals, and marketing materials for hardware.
  • Manage calendars, tracking sheets, and administrative tasks.
  • Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate team staff.

A successful candidate for the Technical Publications and Business Development Manager position will:
  • Have at least 10 years of experience, with at least 5 of those in a management or supervisory role.
  • Become the working manager of the Business Development Operations center, leading teams on the generation of Federal Government market surveys, white papers, and proposals from bid decision through award.
  • Excel at performing production edits and proofreading (including self-editing); be receptive to constructive feedback on writing, editing, and a variety of technical topics; and have impeccable attention to detail.
  • Integrate into various teams to collaborate on software and engineering development projects to produce and maintain full suites of documentation products, including user guides, quick-start guides, training materials, hardware supplements, software and maintenance manuals, and test-plan and procedure documentation.
  • Work on technical briefings, technical reports, manuals, and marketing materials for high-performance electronic hardware.
  • Operate in an interrupt-driven environment, manage concurrent tasks, wear many hats, and perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining calendars and tracking sheets.
  • Supervise, direct, train, mentor, and evaluate team employees.
What required background will make you successful?
  • Current TS/SCI security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Bachelor's Degree in Scientific & Technical Communication, Technical Writing, or related writing or technology-oriented discipline
  • Experience balancing leadership and hands-on execution
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Proficiency in Windows environment
  • Ability to assimilate complex information quickly and translate it into appropriate products for the intended audience
  • Excellent writing fundamentals, including impeccable skills finding and fixing errors in grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure
  • Ability and willingness to work full-time in a Rincon facility office
Desired:
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, GitLab, or similar configuration control and document management systems
  • Familiarity with manipulating PDF files in Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Familiarity with graphics-development tools, such as Photoshop, Visio, Gimp, etc.
  • Familiarity with Linux command line and environment
Where is the position located?

This position can be located in our Centennial, CO; Chantilly, VA or Tucson, AZ Headquarters. This role requires onsite attendance without any remote work.

  • The likely salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
