Job summary

Electronic Theatre Controls, Inc. (ETC) is hiring a Technical Projects Co-Op for 2027. This 8- to 9-month, on-site role starts January 2027 or May 2027 in our Middleton, WI office. Students will work full-time, taking a semester off to participate in this hands-on opportunity.

The role supports ETC products, maintains test spaces, and contributes to training events and system upgrades while collaborating with R&D and Manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 2 years toward a Bachelor’s degree in Technology
• 3.0 GPA or above in core courses
• Computer knowledge
• Experience with lighting systems
• Customer service experience preferred
• Experience working in a team environment
• Knowledge of entertainment lighting systems
• Specific knowledge of ETC product line is desired
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to be creative and innovative
• Ability to multi task
• Strong degree of flexibility and independence
• Computer skills (Outlook, Internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat Reader)
• Ability to use product related software
• Able to use hand tools, power tools, and electronic test tools
• Ability to work weekend and evenings as required
• Able to lift up to 65 pounds
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity

Responsibilities

• Support ETC and other products
• Maintain a shared test space and equipment
• Become familiar with tools and applications used by department
• Set up test systems to simulate issues in the field
• Test material and software to evaluate issues
• Provide Technical support to internal customers
• Provide technical support to ETC Summer Workshop and Technical Service training events
• Ensures training workshops have adequate preparation
• Ensures training attendees are educated on ETC products
• Performs hardware and software upgrades
• Performs specified upgrade to meet customer requirements
• Completes follow-up documentation
• Establishes and maintains relations with R&D and Manufacturing
• Ensures ETC is projected in a professional and enthusiastic manner
• Other duties as assigned
