Job summary

Electronic Theatre Controls (ETC) is seeking a Technical Projects Co-Op for 2027. This 8-9 month program starts in January 2027 or May 2027, and students may take a semester off to work full-time with ETC.

The role includes hands-on testing, product support, and participation in training events. You will support ETC and other products, maintain test space, set up systems, and provide technical support to internal customers and training events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 2 years toward a Bachelor’s degree in Technology.
• 3.0 GPA or above in core courses.
• Computer knowledge and basic software literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience with lighting systems is preferred.
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support ETC and other products.
• Maintain a shared test space and equipment.
• Set up test systems to simulate field issues.
• Provide technical support to internal customers.
• Assist with ETC Summer Workshop and Technical Service training events.
• Ensure training workshops are well prepared and attendees are educated on ETC products.
• Perform hardware and software upgrades and follow-up documentation.
• Coordinate with R&D and Manufacturing to maintain professional representation of ETC.

Job description

ETC is hiring a Technical Projects Co-Op for 2027! This is an 8-9 month position for students starting in January 2027 or May 2027. The expectation would be for the student to take a semester off of school and work full-time with ETC!

Some of the duties you may be doing:

• Support ETC and other products
• Maintain a shared test space and associated equipment
• Become familiar with tools and applications used by department
• Set up test systems to simulate issues in the field
• Test material and software to evaluate issues
• Provide Technical support to internal customers
• Provide technical support to ETC Summer Workshop and Technical Service training events
• Ensures training workshops have adequate preparation
• Ensures training attendees are educated on ETC products
• Performs hardware and software upgrades
• Performs specified upgrade to meet customer requirements
• Completes follow-up documentation
• Establishes and maintains relations with departments other than Technical Service (R&D and Manufacturing)
• Ensures ETC is projected in a professional and enthusiastic manner
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma and 2 years study towards a Bachelor’s degree in Technology
• 3.0 GPA or above in core courses
• Computer knowledge
• Experience with lighting systems
• Customer service experience preferred
• Experience working in a team environment
• Knowledge of entertainment lighting systems
• Specific knowledge of ETC product line is desired
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to be creative and innovative
• Ability to multi task
• Strong degree of flexibility and independence
• Computer skills (Outlook, Internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat Reader)
