About the Role

The Senior Epic Project Manager leads the planning, coordination, and execution of complex Epic-related initiatives, including software implementations, module enhancements, and cross‑functional systems integration. This role is instrumental in driving enterprise‑wide digital health projects such as electronic health record (EHR) optimizations, analytics initiatives, and system‑wide technology upgrades.

Responsibilities
  • Leads the planning, execution, and delivery of Epic-related projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Oversees cross‑functional teams including analysts, developers, clinical stakeholders, and operational leaders to ensure successful implementation and optimization of Epic Clinical and Revenue Cycle applications.
  • Drives project governance, including scope definition, risk management, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Serves as a strategic liaison between IT and operational departments, translating business needs into actionable project plans and ensuring system capabilities support clinical and revenue cycle workflows.
  • Facilitates stakeholder engagement, conducting regular meetings, rounding, and feedback sessions to gather input, address concerns, and promote collaboration.
  • Coordinates go‑live readiness and post‑implementation support, including training, issue resolution, and performance monitoring to ensure smooth transitions and sustained adoption.
  • Provides leadership in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex system issues, collaborating with technical teams and vendors to ensure timely resolution.
  • Monitors project performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring continuous alignment with best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Mentors and supports project team members, fostering professional development and promoting a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies, including documentation standards, time reporting, and change management protocols.
  • Advocates for user needs and system usability, contributing to the development of training materials, support documentation, and workflow integration strategies.
  • Maintains strong vendor relationships, coordinating support and enhancement efforts to ensure system stability and alignment with evolving operational needs.
  • Provides on‑call project leadership support as needed, ensuring continuity of operations and rapid response to critical issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required) or Master's Degree (Preferred)
  • 7 years to 10+ years of project management, product design, or related experience (Required)

  • Change Leadership & Organizational Agility – Skilled in leading change initiatives, guiding teams through transitions, and fostering adoption of new technologies and workflows with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collaborative Leadership & Team Development – Builds high‑performing teams through mentorship, open communication, and a collaborative approach that promotes shared ownership of project outcomes.
  • Change Management & Transformation – Experienced in applying structured change management methodologies to support system implementations, upgrades, and optimizations, ensuring stakeholder buy‑in and long‑term success.
  • Professional Integrity & Accountability – Upholds the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct, particularly in high‑pressure or sensitive project environments.

Pay range and compensation package

The disclosed salary range includes the minimum and maximum rates within which Children’s National believes an individual’s base pay rate will fall for this position. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the maximum of the pay range. The exact pay rate for this position will be based on a variety of factors in alignment with the Children’s National compensation philosophy. These factors are legitimate and non‑discriminatory including, but not limited to, the current market conditions; organizational needs; the individual’s combination of prior work experience, level of education, knowledge, skills, and other qualifications. Children’s National is committed to providing a fair and competitive total rewards package to each of our employees. This base salary range does not include our comprehensive benefits package or any additional compensation for which this position may be eligible.
