Job summary

Geosyntec Company seeks a Technical Project Manager II to support critical missions at Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM. The TPM-2 will manage discrete technical construction scope, defining and tracking deliverables, budgets, and risks, and lead project teams through initiation to turnover.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience, DOE/NNSA experience, U.S. Citizenship, and the ability to obtain DOE Q security clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required with 5 years of directly related experience (or equivalent).
  • Nuclear facility and/or laboratory experience required with DOE/NNSA security/classification protocols.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract security requirements.
  • Ability to pass a federal background investigation to obtain DOE Q clearance.
  • Health & Safety training and client-driven drug/background testing required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project activities in alignment with Triad's prime contract, NNSA, and DOE 413.3B requirements.
  • Organize work into control accounts and work packages defining tasks to meet objectives.
  • Report to the Manager of Projects and oversee day-to-day administrative and operational management of the project area.

  • Provide technical guidance to project teams and support departments, and manage budgets and schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Technical Project Manager (TPM) 2 supports and manages discrete technical construction scope, ensuring timely completion of all project elements. This role oversees technical requirements; defines and manages project deliverables, budgets, schedules, and risks; and supports, while at times leading, the project team in planning, tracking, and executing the scope from initiation through turnover.

  • TPM 2 manages project activities in alignment with Triad's prime contract, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), and Department of Energy (DOE) 413.3B requirements.
  • Work is organized into control accounts and corresponding work packages that define tasks necessary to meet programmatic objectives.
  • TPM 2 reports to the Manager of Projects (MOP) and is responsible for the day to day administrative and operational management of an assigned project/program area.
  • Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and evaluating policies, procedures, and standards related to construction and work execution within a nuclear facility.
  • The role also supports development and monitoring of program budgets and provides technical guidance to project teams, support departments, and matrixed resources.
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 5 years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Prior nuclear facility and/or laboratory experience is required along with an emphasis on recent and relevant experience with security/classification protocols in a Department of Energy (DOE) and/or NNSA setting where active D&D, construction, testing, and turnover was being performed under Nuclear Quality Assurance-1 (NQA-1) requirements (required)
  • Due to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship. (required)
  • Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance. (required)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & LOCATION DETAILS
  • Extensive experience working compliantly within strict nuclear security and classification environments.
  • Work planning and controls;
  • Effective coordination and communication between representatives of construction, operations, and support organizations such as radiological control, criticality / nuclear / occupational safety.
  • Relevant prior experience working under DOE O 413.3B Capital Line Item projects, and/or certifications in Earned Value Management systems.
  • Location: Off-Site, Richland, WA Duty Station.

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum: $179,479/year / Maximum: $187,637/year (Richland, WA)
