Job summary

Grid Dynamics seeks an experienced Technical Program Manager to coordinate safety language evaluation across research, engineering, product, policy, and annotation operations. You will translate complex work into clear updates for leaders and stakeholders.

You will coordinate with annotators and localization partners, maintain portfolio dashboards, and drive process improvements to scale programs across languages. This role requires strong communication and independent leadership.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in technical program management or cross-functional coordination within a technology organization.
  • Ability to communicate complex programs clearly to engineering, research, operations and leadership.
  • Experience collaborating with globally distributed teams including annotators, linguists or language service providers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills across multiple audiences.
  • Experience designing and maintaining program tracking systems, dashboards, or portfolio tools.
  • Ability to work independently to align multiple teams and deliver results.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail; good time management.
  • Industry experience in technology or AI/ML domains.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Cross-Functional Engagement: Serve as the primary coordination point across research, engineering, product, policy, and annotation operations teams for safety language evaluation efforts. Ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, deliverables, and dependencies across workstreams and markets.
  • Stakeholder Presentations & Updates: Develop and deliver clear, compelling presentations and progress updates to stakeholders at all levels, including engineering leads, product managers, and executive leadership. Translate technical evaluation work into accessible narratives that convey impact and progress.
  • Language Expert Coordination: Build and maintain strong working relationships with native-speaking annotators, language specialists, and localization partners. Ensure their input and expertise are systematically integrated into evaluation planning, execution, and reporting workflows. Serve as an advocate for language team needs within broader program discussions.
  • Portfolio Visibility & Tracking: Design and maintain portfolio-level tracking systems that provide visibility into evaluation status, coverage, risks, and milestones across all target languages and markets. Ensure stakeholders have timely, accurate information to support decision-making.
  • Process Design & Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements that streamline coordination, reduce communication overhead, and enable the team to scale evaluation capabilities to new languages and markets more efficiently.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Management: Maintain comprehensive documentation of program status, decisions, processes, and cross-functional agreements. Ensure institutional knowledge is captured and accessible to support team continuity and onboarding.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in technical program management, or cross-functional coordination role within a technology organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical programs clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including engineering, research, operations, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Strong experience building and maintaining working relationships with globally distributed teams, including non-engineering partners such as annotators, linguists, or language service providers.
  • Comfortable developing and delivering presentations, executive summaries, and progress reports across multiple media formats.
  • Experience designing and maintaining program tracking systems, dashboards, or portfolio visibility tools.
  • Able to work independently to drive alignment and outcomes across multiple teams and workstreams, with minimal direction.
  • Organized, highly attentive to detail, and manages time well.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Experience working in industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
  • Advanced degree (MS/MBA) in a technical, organizational, or communication-related field.
  • Experience coordinating multilingual or cross-market programs, particularly in AI, NLP, localization, or trust and safety domains.
  • Familiarity with AI safety, responsible AI, or content moderation evaluation workflows.
  • Experience working directly with annotation or labeling operations, including managed services or vendor-managed teams.
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana, or similar).
  • Experience with change management or scaling operational programs across regions or languages.
  • Cultural competency training or demonstrated experience working effectively across cultural and linguistic boundaries.
