Job summary

Arbor Energy is hiring a Technical Project Lead to drive the engineering and execution of its first-of-a-kind supercritical CO₂ power plant from FEED through commissioning and first power.

This engineer will work across process, electrical, controls, and turbomachinery teams, authoring process design and leading long-lead procurement, safety reviews, and on-site execution at El Segundo, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or related engineering field.
• Experience leading FEED through commissioning for a pilot, demo, or commercial facility.
• Strong fundamentals in heat and material balances, P&IDs, and equipment specs.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.3, BPVC VIII, API 520/521; cross-discipline view.
• Experience directing engineering firms, vendors, and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Own the integrated technical execution plan and map dependencies.
• Lead plant-level process design (PFDs, H&MBs, P&IDs) and interfaces.
• Identify critical-path equipment; lead long-lead procurement and reviews.
• Manage engineering firms, fabricators, and construction interfaces.
• Lead process safety reviews (HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA) and constructability.
• Lead on-site execution through construction, commissioning, and startup.
• Collaborate with PM and supply chain on estimates and schedules.
