Job summary

York Space Systems is seeking a Technical Project Engineer to drive detailed planning across engineering activities at our Greenwood Village, CO headquarters. You will support principal engineers in defining tasks, balancing resources, and delivering multiple customer programs and R&D projects on time.

This on-site role emphasizes risk management, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration with program managers, customers, and suppliers to ensure successful spacecraft system

Qualifications

We’re expanding our team and looking for bold, driven engineers who thrive in fast-paced environments and want to make a lasting impact.

As a Technical Project Engineer (TPE), you will be responsible for detailed planning across all engineering activities at York Space Systems. You’ll support principal engineers to determine the tasks and activities needed to deliver multiple customer programs and R&D projects. You will drive risk management to ensure successful delivery of programs and play a critical role in continuous improvement, technical problem solving, and balancing the York engineering team.

This role will be fully on-site in the Denver area (Greenwood Village, CO).

Responsibilities

• Lead and Drive: Build and manage clear, realistic engineering schedules that keep customer programs and R&D efforts moving forward with purpose and precision.
• Champion Disruptio: Look for better ways of doing things, question outdated processes, and help introduce approaches that speed up execution and strengthen technical outcomes.
• Amplify Impact: Contribute within small, fast‑moving teams where your work is immediately felt and your ideas genuinely shape how we deliver spacecraft systems.
• Own Outcomes: Take responsibility for identifying risks, securing the right resources, and ensuring programs stay on track from kickoff through delivery.
• Forge Partnerships: Build trust across engineering, leadership, and operations by communicating openly and collaborating effectively.
• Inspire Teams: Support engineers working across multiple space projects by helping define design approaches, research needs, development priorities, testing paths, and integration plans.
• Solve Problems: Spot risks early, understand how issues connect across programs, and help lead the development of practical, scalable solutions.
• Facilitate Milestones: Commit to major program milestones and use real data to drive progress, remove blockers, and close action items.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to refine processes, strengthen engineering workflows, and lead improvement efforts where they matter most.
• Engage Stakeholders: Work confidently with program managers, customers, and suppliers, contributing to discussions and delivering clear, compelling presentations.

• Be Adaptable:Perform other duties as assigned to support programs and the Company.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering.
• 3+ years in project engineering, systems engineering, or program management (level/salary commensurate with experience).
• PMP, ACMP certification or the desire to gain one.
• Demonstrates self-initiated work in a team environment with strong leadership skills.
• Ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance is required.
• Experience managing cross-functional projects.
• Willingness to work at least 4 days per week in our Greenwood Village, CO office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
• Direct experience delivering spacecraft missions across all stages of the program lifecycle.
• Experience managing projects using Jira, MS Project, and/or Power BI.
