Job summary

Canopy Aerospace & Defense is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead cross-functional teams delivering advanced thermal protection solutions from concept to production. You will serve as the key technical liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring goals, timelines, and deliverables are aligned.

The role offers opportunities to support front-end program development and capture, develop proposals, and transition new programs from acquisition to execution.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (Secret or higher).
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 5+ years of experience in technical program management or similar role with a high degree of technical ownership.
• Experience managing programs involving launch vehicles, missile systems, thermal protection systems, thermal design, and/or composite materials.
• Proven leadership in multi-disciplinary engineering products or systems from concept through delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to lead joint programs across internal departments and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Align cross-functional teams on program goals, timelines, and deliverables through production.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison for customers, translating feedback into actionable tasks.
• Represent technical content to internal and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers.
• Support proposal and business capture efforts by defining requirements and drafting proposals.
• Coordinate joint development across affiliated companies and business units.
• Support technical execution across engineering and manufacturing to meet objectives and timelines.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks; implement contingency plans.
• Track program progress with dashboards, KPIs, budgets, and resources.
• Prepare leadership dashboards and performance metrics for reviews.
• Facilitate data-driven decision-making with clear trade-off analyses.
