About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing technical tradeoffs with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you will manage projects of various size and scope, identify future opportunities, improve processes, and drive the technical directions of your programs. As a TPM, you will lead software engineering projects in one of our core programming languages and influence teams involved in designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving software. Your responsibilities include planning requirements, identifying risks, managing schedules, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.

Google Ads helps power the open internet with technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. Our teams build Google’s advertising products, including search, display, shopping, travel, and video advertising, as well as analytics. We create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads, helping businesses of all sizes grow with effective tools that deliver measurable results, and enabling Google to engage with customers at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand or identify work problems and program goals, obtain prioritized deliverables, and discuss program impact.
  • Prioritize program goals, translate stakeholders’ needs into objectives, and contribute to goal-setting and prioritization decisions.
  • Define project scope and develop, execute, or manage project plans.
  • Review key metrics, monitor deviations, and define corrective actions.
  • Identify, communicate, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to drive impact and achieve mutual goals.
