Job summary

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects within data centers. You will plan requirements with internal customers and shepherd projects through the full lifecycle, communicating risks to stakeholders and balancing trade-offs with engineering teams.

You will manage large-scale data centers, power distribution, cooling and networking across multiple sites, coordinating partner teams while keeping schedules and budgets on track.

Preferred qualifications:

• 10 years of experience managing cross-functional/team projects.
• 10 years of work experience with data center equipment/environments, including electrical switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems and fire safety systems, with an understanding of start up/commissioning processes.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry, including knowledge of fast track design build processes and associated documents and contracts.
• Experience in requirements gathering, resource organization, task prioritization, scheduling and achieving objectives within set goals.
• Knowledge of large-scale facility electrical and mechanical systems.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.

As a highly motivated Program Manager, you have demonstrated experience with data center design, development, construction and commissioning projects. You will provide management of large-scale data centers, computer farms, networking, AC and DC power distribution/conversion, and cooling methods at multiple scales. You will be tasked with juggling and coordinating the desires and needs of multiple partner teams, while managing changes and maintaining a focus on keeping the project on schedule and budget.

You will have experience managing large-scale technical projects in a rapidly changing industry, ability to thrive in ambiguity and demonstrated problem-solving leadership with limited oversight. You should be able to conceptualize and describe the delivery of a data center facility from start to commissioning and understand the nuances and risks that you and your team will need to manage.

US: $240000 - $333000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits
