Role Overview

This is an exciting time at Ramon.Space. We are seeking a Program Manager with a strong engineering background and proven experience supporting government and commercial programs. In this role, you will oversee full program execution, ensuring planning, tasking, prioritization, and schedule management, are carried out in a structured and consistent manner. You will work directly with technical leads, providing clear direction on daily priorities to ensure engineering activities support on‑time, contract‑compliant deliveries.

As the central driver of program performance, you will ensure coordinated execution and transparent communication across internal and external stakeholders. You will utilize your technical understanding to identify risks, implement proactive measures that mitigate cost‑ or schedule‑impacting obstacles, and resolve blocking issues to ensure contractual requirements and delivery milestones are achieved. You will maintain an operational rhythm that supports both near‑term milestones and long‑term program activities, translating technical progress into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.

Reporting to the Head of U.S. Programs, this role requires a detail‑oriented leader who communicates clearly, drives accountability, and consistently delivers reliable, high‑quality space systems for government and commercial partners.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a hands‑on Program Manager who is actively involved in day‑to‑day execution, including time in the lab, interacting with hardware, and developing a deep understanding of the system.
  • Lead full lifecycle program execution from kickoff through delivery and closeout.
  • Maintain a detailed Microsoft Project schedule with earned value reporting to track progress and forecast outcomes.
  • Provide clear direction to engineering teams on priorities, tasking, and required results.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional activities across engineering, operations, supply chain, and leadership.
  • Maintain continuous communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment on scope, progress, risks, and expectations.
  • Prepare and deliver program status reports, technical updates, and customer briefings.
  • Identify program risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain cost, schedule, and performance commitments.
  • Drive resolution of technical and programmatic blockers to maintain execution momentum.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, quality standards, and delivery commitments.
  • Support proposal development, cost estimation, and planning for new and follow‑on programs.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience managing complex engineering or aerospace/defense programs.
  • Strong technical foundation across all engineering disciplines, with the ability to understand and evaluate technical challenges.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional teams in fast‑paced environments.
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, risks, and customer expectations.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey priorities, decisions, and technical context clearly.
  • Experience working with government customers, primes, or commercial space organizations.
  • Strong organizational discipline and an execution‑focused leadership style.
  • Ability to travel as required to support program execution and customer engagements.

The successful candidate will possess a strong engineering background in Systems Engineering or a related discipline, combined with proven leadership experience in managing technical teams. This role requires the ability to develop and manage engineering Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), establish and prioritize engineering tasks, and oversee the execution of technical activities. The candidate must also be capable of serving as a Technical Lead when required, providing technical guidance, mentoring engineering staff, and ensuring the successful delivery of program objectives.

This role involves access to export‑controlled technology. Eligibility for such access is subject to U.S. export control laws, and the company may need to obtain appropriate government authorization before granting access.

  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Be part of a pioneering team in the satellite communication industry.

The salary range for this position is $180,000‑$210,000 with the potential for a bonus. Ramon.Space will consider relevant work experience, skills, education, and training when putting together an offer for this position.
