Our cutting-edge, software-defined technology equips satellites with advanced storage, processing, and connectivity capabilities - powering smart, efficient, and fully adaptable missions across communications, 5G NTN, earth observation, and space-based data centers.

As we scale our U.S. presence, we’re deepening our work with both commercial operators and U.S. government partners who are driving the next generation of space innovation. From mission-critical national security applications to high-growth commercial constellations, our proven computing platforms deliver the performance, reliability, and flexibility needed to unlock new capability in orbit. Selected by the world’s leading satellite operators, Ramon.Space is defining how the industry builds, deploys, and evolves digital missions in space.

We are a global team of 100+ employees across the US, United Kingdom, and Israel. If you are looking to make an impact, come and join our team.

We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team in the US to develop advanced digital processor sub-systems for US-focused opportunities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing electro-mechanical packaging for space applications.

What you will be doing

  • Drive mechanical design aspects for state-of-the‑art space-based on‑board processors, with strong ownership of structural integrity and robustness.
  • Lead structural design and analysis activities, including stress, vibration, and thermal‑mechanical performance throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and evaluate multiple early design concepts in fast‑paced product development cycles, incorporating structural considerations from the outset.
  • Independently lead product design from concept through detailed design and provide support during Qualification and Production stages.
  • Own and execute structural validation efforts, including defining test plans (e.g., vibration, shock, thermal cycling) and correlating analysis with test results.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to define hardware interfaces while ensuring appropriate load paths and mechanical margins and manufacturability.
  • Work closely with hardware, layout, and validation engineers to define mechanical and structural requirements, verification methods, and production processes.
  • Partner with system integration and validation teams to ensure mechanical and structural compliance at system level.
  • Work closely with spacecraft integrators to validate the design under mission environments and interface conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in electro‑mechanical product design, including designs for PCB/PCBAs.
  • Strong experience in structural analysis (e.g., FEA for stress, vibration, modal, and thermal analyses).
  • Proven ability to translate analysis results into design improvements and practical engineering decisions.
  • Hands‑on experience with 3D CAD such as SolidWorks.
  • Experience developing fixtures for product assembly and testing.
  • High awareness for quality and manufacturability, including statistical tolerance analysis, and GD&T.
  • Experience supporting environmental testing (vibration, shock, thermal vacuum) and correlating with analytical models.
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset with the ability to handle complexity, system‑level interactions, and multidisciplinary trade‑offs.
  • Experience working with on‑board digital payloads and/or processors.
  • Experience working with customers across all program lifecycle stages, including institutional and government customers (e.g., ESA, NASA, USSF).
  • Ability to operate in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work concurrently across multiple teams and programs.

Advantages

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with industry‑standard FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Nastran, Abaqus).
  • Background in space or aerospace structural design and environmental qualification.
  • Experience with lightweighting techniques and design for launch load environments.
  • Familiarity with fracture mechanics, fatigue, bolt, and reliability analysis.
  • Experience with thermal‑structural coupled analysis.
  • Knowledge of materials used in space applications (aluminum alloys, titanium, composites, etc.).
  • Experience designing for EMI/RFI considerations in mechanical enclosures.
  • Exposure to high‑reliability or radiation‑hardened electronics packaging.
  • Experience with design for additive manufacturing.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
