Job summary

Stelvio Inc. in Austin, TX seeks a Technical Program Manager to lead complex electromechanical products from concept to production launch. This senior IC role requires deep hands-on engineering credibility and end-to-end NPI ownership.

You will coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Manufacturing, and Quality teams, manage budgets and schedules, drive stage-gate readiness, and establish baselines for cost, scope, and risk while building scalable processes in a growing hardware organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in program, project, or product development for complex physical products.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on engineering experience with electromechanical hardware.
• End-to-end NPI ownership from development to launch.
• Experience managing hardware, embedded software, firmware or controls programs.
• Strong manufacturing readiness, supplier development, and product industrialization.
• Experience with BOMs, ECOs, PLM, and ERP.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and risks; cross-functional dependencies.
• Ability to challenge assumptions and build structure in evolving engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead motor and electromechanical product programs from concept through launch.
• Create and maintain integrated program plans covering scope, schedules, budgets, resources, dependencies and risk.
• Coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, Power Electronics, Firmware, Controls, Systems, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Commercial teams.
• Drive design reviews, prototype builds, validation activity and stage-gate readiness.
• Establish product cost, schedule and scope baselines.
• Identify technical and operational risks early and drive mitigation or recovery plans.
• Coordinate suppliers, contract manufacturers, tooling, component readiness and production ramp.
• Manage BOM releases, ECOs, configuration changes and PLM/ERP processes.
• Providing clear program metrics, executive updates and decision support.
• Help build scalable processes and operating discipline within a growing product organization.

Technical Program Manager – Motors & Electromechanical Systems

I’m supporting a confidential Austin-based engineering company seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead complex electromechanical products through development, NPI and production launch.

This is a senior individual-contributor position with significant ownership across engineering, manufacturing and operations. The successful candidate must understand how physical products are designed, validated and industrialized—not simply how to manage timelines and meetings.

The role will include:

• Leading complex motor and electromechanical product programs from concept through engineering development, validation, manufacturing readiness and launch.
• Creating and maintaining integrated program plans covering scope, schedules, budgets, resources, dependencies and risk.
• Coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, Power Electronics, Firmware, Controls, Systems, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Commercial teams.
• Driving design reviews, technical decisions, prototype builds, validation activity and stage-gate readiness.
• Establishing product cost, schedule and scope baselines.
• Identifying technical and operational risks early and driving accountable mitigation or recovery plans.
• Coordinating suppliers, contract manufacturers, tooling, component readiness and production ramp.

What we’re looking for:

• Approximately 10+ years of program, project or product-development experience involving complex physical products.
• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• First‑hand engineering experience with electromechanical or hardware products.
• Genuine end‑to‑end NPI ownership from early development through production launch.
• Experience managing programs that combine hardware, embedded software, firmware or controls.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing readiness, supplier development and product industrialization.
• Practical experience with BOMs, ECOs, PLM and ERP systems.
• Confidence managing budgets, product costs, schedules, technical risks and cross‑functional dependencies.
• The ability to challenge assumptions, anticipate problems and ask technically informed questions.
• A track record of creating structure and improving processes in evolving engineering environments.

Particularly relevant product backgrounds include:

• Electric motors, actuators or motion‑control systems.
• Robotics and industrial automation.
• Automotive, EV or off‑highway systems.
• Pumps, compressors or rotating equipment.
• Industrial machinery and capital equipment.
• Power electronics and electrically driven systems.
• Medical, aerospace or other complex regulated hardware.
• Rugged products requiring close coordination between engineering and manufacturing.

Experience across multiple NPI environments or growing hardware companies would be especially valuable.

This is not a software‑only, IT infrastructure or Scrum‑focused program‑management position. We need someone with the technical credibility to work closely with engineers and the program discipline to move complex physical products successfully into production.
