Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Technical Product Specialist to create, maintain, and test product data, pricing, and BOMs for the Unitary portfolio. You will support field sales software and pricing tools, collaborating with internal teams to order equipment and generate proposals and submittals.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to work independently and in a team. Travel up to 10% is expected; a relevant engineering or CS background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Associate’s Degree plus 2 years of Trane Commercial Product experience preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong written communication skills and teamwork ability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee implementation, maintenance, and auditing of configuration management and bill of materials across multiple systems to ensure data integrity.
• Convert requirements from design, engineering, product support, and manufacturing into tools and processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data and application issues reported by customers.
• Ensure delivery of accurate and reliable data products by thoroughly reviewing both personal work and the work of others.
• Work with cross-functional teams to create and maintain analytic workflows and data visualizations.

Where Is The Work

Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.

This Technical Product Specialist is responsible for creating, maintaining and testing product data, pricing, rules & notes for products in our Unitary portfolio. This work supports software programs used by the field sales organization, as well as external customers, to select Trane Commercial Systems equipment. It also supports the tools used by commercial sales offices to price, generate documents such as proposals and submittals, and ultimately to order Trane equipment. This position requires a detailed-oriented person who works well both independently and in a team setting. Must have good written communication skills to clearly communicate product selection and ordering requirements to both internal Trane personnel and external customers.

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent degree OR
• Associate’s Degree (Electrical or Mechanical Design is desired) and 2 years of Trane Commercial Product experience is preferred

Key Competencies

• Working knowledge of computer-aided graphic systems; AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of product definition and configuration concepts preferred.
• Must be able to function in a technical engineering team environment.
• Ability to work both individually and in cross-functional teams
