The ideal candidate will understand the intricacies of data and analytics, have background experience as a Product Owner, and be familiar with SQL and BI tools like Tableau and Power BI. This role is hybrid based in Philadelphia and offers an initial 5-month contract, with strong potential for extension.

Job description

We are seeking a Technical Product Owner to drive delivery of data & analytics solutions for a leading insurance client.

This role is ideal for someone who can bridge business needs with data engineering & BI teams, translating complex requirements into actionable backlog items.

• Location: Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid)
• Duration: 5-months initial contract & high possibility of extension
• Interview: 2 rounds (Video + Onsite)

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and manage the product backlog for Data & BI initiatives
• Translate business requirements into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Partner with stakeholders, data engineers, and BI teams to deliver scalable data solutions
• Prioritize features based on business value and data strategy
• Ensure quality, accuracy, and alignment of delivered data products and reports

Must Have:

• Experience as a Technical Product Owner / Data Product Owner / Technical BA (Data-heavy)
• Strong understanding of data & analytics environments
• Hands-on experience with: SQL (required), Python (preferred)
• Experience with BI tools: Tableau / Power BI
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms: AWS (Redshift, SageMaker, or similar)
• Strong experience with backlog management, user stories, and stakeholder communication

Nice to Have:

• Experience in Insurance / Financial Services domain
• Understanding of data modeling (star schema, etc.)

Ideal Background:

• Analytics / Data-focused Technical Business Analyst
