Job summary

Associated Bank is seeking a Technical Product Owner to bridge business goals and technology solutions, delivering high-value digital products. You will partner with product, engineering, and architecture teams to define technical priorities, guide development, and influence strategic technology decisions.

You’ll lead technical initiatives, grow expertise in modern cloud technologies, and advance digital product delivery across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in information technology, including software or application development and product ownership.
  • 3+ years of experience providing technical leadership or leading cross-functional technology initiatives.
  • Hands-on knowledge of AWS cloud services, C#, Python, Git/GitHub, SQL and relational databases, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, RESTful APIs, React or React Native, and production monitoring and support.

Responsibilities

  • Define technical solutions with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to support business objectives.
  • Create and refine technical epics, user stories, and non-functional requirements to drive product delivery.
  • Guide engineering teams by providing technical direction and clarifying architecture, design, and implementation decisions.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to prioritize backlogs and balance functional enhancements with technical investments.
  • Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, and product releases by removing technical roadblocks and ensuring delivery readiness.
  • Drive execution of the technical product roadmap while identifying opportunities to improve scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Advise cross-functional teams on modern development practices, cloud technologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Role Summary

As a Technical Product Owner, you'll bridge the gap between business goals and technology solutions, helping deliver innovative digital products that create value for customers. Key Accountabilities

Education & Experience
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in information technology, including software or application development and product ownership.
  • 3+ years of experience providing technical leadership or leading cross-functional technology initiatives.
  • Hands-on knowledge of AWS cloud services, C#, Python, Git/GitHub, SQL and relational databases, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, RESTful APIs, automated testing, React or React Native, and production monitoring and support.
Preferred
  • Experience delivering digital products in an Agile environment.
  • Experience balancing technical debt, platform modernization, and customer-facing enhancements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for business stakeholders.
