Job summary

Chalk, based in San Francisco, seeks a Product Manager to own product strategy and drive outcomes with autonomy. You will work closely with the VP of Product, co-founders, and the engineering team to ship in a fast-moving environment.

This role blends product and project management responsibilities, requires a scrappy, low‑ego attitude, and offers high ownership in a technically focused data/ML platform context.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience on technical products.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline.
• Strong technical acumen and ability to engage with engineering on architecture, tradeoffs, and constraints.
• Demonstrated ability to ship complex products in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity.
• Willingness to take on both product management and project management responsibilities.
• Low ego, high ownership, and a bias toward execution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to articulate product strategy to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute product priorities with Chalk’s VP of Product and co-founders.
• Understand user needs across data/AI teams; translate feedback into requirements.
• Drive end-to-end delivery for initiatives: scoping, milestones, PM, release coordination.
• Partner with engineering on developer experience, performance, reliability, integrations.
• Write product specifications and tradeoffs aligned with business outcomes.
• Define success metrics; analyze data and iterate quickly.
• Support pricing, packaging, and feature scoping as Chalk scales.
