Job summary

Chalk in San Francisco is hiring a Product Manager to join as an early employee, with autonomy and ownership, reporting to the VP of Product and co-founders. You will work with engineers to ship product in a fast-moving environment.

We seek someone technical, scrappy, and capable of owning both product and project management tasks. The role is in-office five days a week with flexibility for unavoidable conflicts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience on technical products
• Strong technical acumen and ability to engage in-depth with engineering teams on architecture and constraints
• Demonstrated ability to ship complex products in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity
• Willingness to take on both product management and project management responsibilities
• Low ego, high ownership, bias toward execution
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to articulate product strategy to technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

• Define and execute product priorities with VP of Product and co-founders
• Understand user needs across data and AI/ML teams; translate feedback into requirements
• Drive end-to-end delivery for product initiatives: scoping, milestones, release coordination
• Partner with engineering on complex areas: developer experience, performance, reliability
• Write product specifications and tradeoffs aligned with business outcomes
• Define success metrics and iterate based on data
• Support pricing analysis, packaging, and feature scoping as the company scales
