Job description

Our client is a spin-off of a leading real estate appraisal management company serving lenders, banks, credit unions and servicers in all 50 states. As a leader in developing proprietary solutions for the appraisal industry, the firm is currently developing software solutions aimed at enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of residential appraisal reviews. The ultimate goal is to bring this, as well as other, software solutions to the market as SaaS solution(s) that meet evolving industry standards and client needs.

Overview

As a Technical Product Manager, you will play a critical role in translating the strategic product vision set by the VP of Product Development into actionable deliverables for our engineering teams. This is a hands-on execution role focused on bridging business requirements and technical implementation. You will work closely with developers, QA, and project management to define features, create clear user stories, ensure backlog health, and support sprint planning. Your success will be measured by how efficiently and accurately you help deliver on the strategic direction already defined by product leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Own the intake process: refine, triage, and prepare requests for backlog placement and prioritization based on business impact, technical feasibility, and alignment with product roadmap.
  • Partner with stakeholders to capture requirements and translate them into actionable stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead grooming sessions with our development teams ensuring requirements are clear, tasks are assigned, and estimates are tracked.
  • Monitor team velocity and delivery progress; manage dependencies and surface risks or blockers early.
  • Develop documentation, flowcharts, and process diagrams to support alignment and planning.
  • Collaborate with QA to ensure releases are tested, documented, and communicated effectively.
  • Facilitate user feedback loops to validate solutions. Drive continuous improvement by refining product workflows, tooling, and development processes.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, or project management for proprietary software or SaaS solutions.
  • Strong skills in requirements gathering, backlog management, and process documentation within an Agile environment.
  • Comfortable using Python or SQL to validate data, analyze workflows, and support automation projects.
  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and Jupyter notebooks is a plus.
  • Proven ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams and deliver complex projects.
  • Confident communicator with experience leading discussions with executives, developers, and end users. Adept at translating between business and technical contexts.
  • Experience in residential appraisal, mortgage tech, or other compliance-driven industries is a plus.
