Salary: $80,000- $90,000 Annually

About the role

We’re looking for a Technical Product Analyst to partner with Product and Engineering to translate customer and business requirements into clear, testable functional specifications and actionable development work. You will play a key role in defining how complex systems behave and interact, ensuring that engineering teams have the clarity needed to build efficiently and correctly. This role is highly collaborative and sits at the intersection of product execution, systems analysis, and technical documentation.

You will help drive delivery across highly technical products that may include AI‑driven systems, robotics platforms, and mixed reality applications.

What you’ll do
  • Clarify and document requirements for technical solutions, including workflows, dependencies, and edge cases.
  • Create and maintain functional specifications and acceptance criteria to ensure engineering and QA have unambiguous delivery targets.
  • Define system behaviors, interfaces, and data exchanges between software, AI models, hardware components, and user interfaces.
  • Partner with Product Managers to refine problem statements, define scope, and support prioritization with evidence and feasibility inputs.
  • Ensure specifications are testable and support QA in deriving test plans and validation scenarios.
  • Support backlog refinement / grooming by ensuring tickets are ready, sized appropriately, and have clear “definition of done.”
  • Produce technical artifacts such as system workflows, data flows, sequence diagrams, and integration documentation.
  • Analyze product and operational data to answer questions, validate assumptions, and support decision‑making.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Engineering, QA, Design, and stakeholders to validate requirements and reduce delivery risk.
  • Help define and track success metrics for features/releases; report on outcomes and recommend improvements.
What we’re looking for (Requirements)
  • 2–5 years in a role such as Technical Product Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear requirements, functional specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong technical fluency: basic system design concepts, APIs/integrations, and comfort collaborating deeply with engineers.
  • Experience writing specifications for highly technical systems, including software interacting with hardware, sensors, AI models, or real‑time systems.
  • Practical analysis skills and comfort working with data to support product decisions.
  • Excellent written communication—able to turn ambiguity into crisp documentation and alignment.
Nice to have
  • Experience creating/maintaining process maps, UML, sequence diagrams, or similar artifacts.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery teams (sprint planning, backlog refinement, release coordination).
  • Familiarity with analytics tooling (dashboards, event tracking) and experimentation concepts.
What success looks like (first 60–90 days)
  • Requirements are traceable to outcomes/metrics, and delivery decisions are increasingly supported by analysis.
  • Stakeholders and engineering share a common understanding of scope through solid technical artifacts and documentation.
  • Backlog items are consistently “ready” (clear requirements acceptance criteria), reducing rework and churn.
Other Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen or valid Green Card Holder
  • Must be commuting distance of Santa Monica, CA
  • Must be comfortable working on‑site
