Job summary

Phillips 66 is seeking a Technical Operator for Mt. Vernon Midstream to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment in terminal and pipeline operations.

Qualifications

  • High school/GED required with relevant technical training.
  • Associate degree preferred for electrical/instrumentation focus.
  • 3+ years in oil and gas operations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities for receipt, storage and delivery of petroleum products.
  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, inspections and calibrations of equipment.
  • Ensure safety rules are followed and complete maintenance documentation.
  • Write and review work permits for construction or maintenance in operating areas.
  • Supervise and provide direction to contract crews.
  • Complete required safety and regulatory training.

Job Summary

Full job description . Phillips 66 & YOU - Together we can fuel the future The Technical Operator, Mt. Vernon Midstream supports terminal and pipeline operations in the Mt. Vernon, MO area. This position will troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment associated with these operations. This position works Monday through Friday day shift with the potential for occasional overtime and emergency call outs. Based on business need and with supervisor approval, this position may elect to work a 4/10 work schedule. Relocation assistance may be available for the successful candidate (Non Exempt Relocation Policy).

This position requires the successful completion of an online assessment. Responsibilities
  • Coordinating activities as needed to assist in the receipt, storage and delivery of petroleum products.
  • Performing operational duties in accordance with Phillips 66 operating and procedures guides and local operating procedures guides.
  • Identifying and promptly communicating operational and equipment problems and completing trouble reports.
  • Performing troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, calibrations and replacement of equipment as necessary.
  • Performing equipment monitoring and maintenance documentation.
  • Monitoring and enforcing safety rules.
  • Performing planned maintenance checks and calibrations and submitting appropriate reports in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with construction and maintenance projects.
  • Writing and reviewing work permits associated with construction or maintenance in operating areas.
  • Supervising and providing direction to contract crews.
  • Completing and maintaining required safety and regulatory training.
  • Acquiring operator qualifications, as required.
  • Performing environmental and regulatory inspections (eliminating, containing and reporting all product seeps and spills).
  • Complying with all applicable OSHA safety regulations to include P66 safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining facility emergency equipment.
  • Identifying and pursuing improvement opportunities.
Required Qualifications
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) (information can be found at https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic) – depending on location
  • Willing and able to perform/comply with following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
    • To climb various ladders and stairs (up to 40 ft) to operate valves, gauge tanks, or perform maintenance on equipment
    • To raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds
    • To walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain
    • To work outside in harsh weather conditions
    • To work alone a high percentage of the time
    • To respond to emergency calls as needed
    • To work overtime or shift work on an as‑needed basis
    • To wear personal protective equipment (such as fire‑retardant clothing, steel‑toe shoes, ear and eye protection)
    • To maintain your face so that a respirator / face mask can seal properly (clean shaven)
    • To perform firefighting duties
    • To work with hydrocarbons that are under high pressure and heat
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Maintenance, Instrumentation, or Industrial Electronics
  • 3 or more years of direct operational experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Experience with the following: Meter Proving; Accuload III; Allen‑Bradley PLC's; Rosemount Transmitters; OMNI flow computer; Other general pipeline knowledge; Mechanical and rotating equipment experience
