Job summary

BD in the United States is seeking a Technical Operator for Sterilization based in Tucson, AZ. You will operate sterilization equipment (PC, HMI) and track products along conveyors, ensuring cycles are performed per validated procedures.

You will monitor parameters, document outcomes, perform routine maintenance, keep logs, and collaborate with QA and Maintenance to resolve issues. We value meticulous records, safety, and a willingness to support continuous improvement in sterilization processes.

Qualifications

  • Has basic skills training in an analytical/scientific method or operational process.
  • Ability to read, write, interpret and comprehend documents, and perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment.
  • General computer skills.
  • Works independently with minimal guidance.
  • Effective communication skills at a level co-worker.
  • Minimal required supervision.
  • Set priorities among multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Operate sterilization equipment (PC, HMI) according to validated procedures.
  • Track all the products around conveyor systems, and Sterilization Room, to unjam boxes or trays.
  • Load products into conveyors and manipulate the interface of the HMI.
  • Unwrap material prior to sterilization cycle.
  • Load/unload product manually once the manual line is running.
  • Monitor and document sterilization cycles, parameters, and outcomes.
  • Perform routine equipment checks, cleaning, and minor maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization batches and logs.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance teams to resolve issues.
  • Identify and report deviations or equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in sterilization processes.
  • Maintain clean working area.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
