Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Operations Specialist based in the United States.

This Technical Operations Specialist will serve as the primary technical point of contact for external media and client partners throughout the integration lifecycle.
This role combines technical operations, partner onboarding, API support, troubleshooting, quality assurance, and process improvement.
You will manage integrations from initial configuration through launch, ensuring data flows accurately and systems are ready for production.
The position acts as a bridge between external partners and internal Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Operations teams.
You will independently diagnose most integration issues while translating technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for partners.
The role also offers an opportunity to improve documentation, standardize workflows, and reduce implementation time and technical escalations.
Success requires technical aptitude, exceptional attention to detail, strong ownership, and the ability to communicate effectively with audiences of varying technical backgrounds.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead technical onboarding for new media and client partners, managing integration setup from initial configuration through launch.
  • Provide hands-on support for APIs and integrations, including XML payload validation, postback URL configuration, and partner data-flow troubleshooting.
  • Conduct comprehensive QA and launch-readiness reviews to confirm integrations are accurate, functional, and ready for production.
  • Serve as the first line of technical support for external partners, independently resolving configuration, API, data-formatting, and integration issues whenever possible.
  • Diagnose integration failures systematically by identifying patterns, comparing payloads, isolating root causes, and determining when engineering escalation is necessary.
  • Communicate technical findings clearly to external partners, translating complex issues into practical and actionable guidance.
  • Coordinate with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Operations teams when issues require deeper technical investigation or cross-functional resolution.
  • Own and maintain technical documentation, including API guides, onboarding playbooks, integration specifications, troubleshooting resources, and process documentation.
  • Standardize onboarding and integration workflows to improve consistency, reduce errors, and accelerate implementation timelines.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, simplify, and optimize operational processes and proactively drive improvements.
  • Keep technical documentation accurate and current to minimize partner confusion and support faster future implementations.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of assigned integrations and operational issues, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication throughout the process.
Requirements:
  • Technical aptitude and demonstrated ability to operate at the intersection of operations, technology, and engineering.
  • Interest, education, or professional background in engineering, computer science, technical operations, or another technical problem-solving discipline.
  • 1-3+ years of experience working directly with external technical partners, clients, customers, or similar stakeholders.
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting API documentation and working with XML and JSON data formats.
  • Strong understanding of technical troubleshooting principles and the ability to systematically investigate integration and data-flow issues.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when validating configurations, payloads, integrations, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings clearly to partners with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Strong ownership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage tasks independently from setup through resolution or launch.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, product, analytics, and operations teams while maintaining accountability for assigned work.
  • Experience with API testing tools is a plus.
  • Experience in performance marketing, lead generation, affiliate marketing, or a related digital environment is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in a remote environment and managing multiple priorities with limited supervision.
Benefits:
  • Salary: $100,000-$110,000 annually, with compensation determined by factors including location, cost of living, relevant skills, experience, education, and training.
  • Bonus: Eligible for a target annual bonus of 5%, based on individual and company performance.
  • Healthcare: Industry-leading medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
  • Parental benefits: Generous parental leave.
  • Time off: Unlimited paid time off.
  • Retirement: 401(k) company match, fully vested from day one.
  • Volunteer time: Paid charity and volunteer days supporting community initiatives.
  • Career development: Opportunities for career growth and advancement, with a strong emphasis on promoting from within.
  • Work arrangement: Fully remote position.
  • Eligibility: Remote employment is available to candidates residing in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Washington.
