Job summary

Our client in Richland, WA seeks an experienced Technical Manager to lead Facility Waste Acceptance, Special Projects, Laboratory Activities, Customer Services, and Project Management. This role provides technical leadership across facility operations and ensures compliance with waste management regulations.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in facility operations, deep knowledge of radioactive and hazardous waste management, and proficiency with regulatory frameworks (RCRA, TSCA, NRC, DOT).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of facility operations experience.
• Strong knowledge of radioactive and hazardous waste management.
• Knowledge of RCRA, TSCA, NRC, and DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise Facility Waste Acceptance, Special Projects, Laboratory Activities, Customer Services, and Project Management.
• Ensure all waste shipments meet Waste Acceptance Criteria.
• Support inspection and sampling of incoming waste streams for profile verification.
• Review laboratory data and help develop treatment recipes.
• Provide technical direction to operations teams and customers.
• Support permit and license renewals.
• Develop and maintain SOPs within areas of responsibility.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and new process development.
• Assist with the design and development of laboratory infrastructure, instrumentation, and procedures.
• Support recruitment, training, and retention of laboratory employees.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
