The individual serves as a technical and regulatory resource to operations, planning, and commercial teams, supporting waste profiling, shipment approvals, inventory management, and scheduling. This role also partners closely with customers to guide them through regulatory and technical requirements, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant waste handling from initial profile through final receipt. The position reports to a senior leader within Integration or Operational Services.

While performing the duties of this role, the individual may receive occupational exposure to ionizing radiation in accordance with ALARA principles and regulatory limits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and regulatory oversight across waste receipt, waste acceptance, profile review and approval, transportation coordination, inventory control, and operational planning activities.
  • Lead and manage the Waste Acceptance, Generator Services, and Inventory Control teams, including personnel development, performance management, and departmental budgeting.
  • Ensure customers receive timely, accurate guidance on waste profiles, shipping documentation, and other regulatory-required materials.
  • Partner with internal teams to continuously improve procedures related to waste acceptance, receipt, and handling—balancing efficiency with safety and compliance.
  • Maintain clear communication and tracking of inbound waste receipts, inventory status, and planned work activities.
  • Collaborate with site leadership to align shipping schedules, operational priorities, and compliance requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally with licensing, engineering, operations, and business development teams to support existing services and the development of new offerings or license amendments.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for generators regarding acceptance questions, service issues, and resolution of technical or regulatory concerns.
  • Support business development efforts by presenting technical waste management approaches to prospective clients and contributing to proposal development and technical narratives.
  • Provide product and technical support to customers and end users, including guidance on applicable shipping and tracking software platforms.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a physical science or related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in hazardous and/or radioactive waste management, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.

  • Proven ability to coordinate across multiple departments and maintain productive working relationships.
  • Ability to perform routine mathematical calculations related to quantities, volumes, percentages, and measurements.
  • Proficiency with common business and technical software tools, including spreadsheet, word processing, project management, and web-based applications.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; occasionally lift or move items up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use hands and arms for handling, reaching, and operating equipment or tools.
  • Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color differentiation, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work may involve exposure to industrial conditions such as airborne particles, chemicals, and outdoor weather.
  • Occupational exposure to ionizing radiation may occur and will be managed in accordance with ALARA principles and regulatory limits.
  • Noise levels are typically low to moderate depending on location and activity.
