Job summary

First Point Group is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead, design, and optimize carrier-grade networks across IP, optical transport, and data center infrastructure in the United States. You will guide engineering teams, manage complex projects, and ensure reliability, scalability, and security across multi-site environments.

The role requires 7+ years in telecommunications or IT infrastructure, hands-on leadership, and deep knowledge of BGP/OSPF, DWDM, ROADM, Linux, Windows Server,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, or IT Infrastructure.
• Previous technical leadership/management experience.
• Experience in ISP, Carrier, CLEC, Fiber Network, or Data Center environments.
• Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, Routing & Switching.
• Experience with DWDM / Optical Transport.
• Knowledge of Linux, Windows Server, and VMware.
• Availability to travel to customer facilities, data centers, and field sites within and outside the Dallas area.
• Availability to support critical network escalations and scheduled maintenance when required.

• Technical vendor management and strategic technology projects
• Availability to travel to customer facilities, data centers, and field sites within and outside the Dallas area
• Availability to support critical network escalations and scheduled maintenance when required
