Job summary

Nintendo Technology Development in Redmond, WA, is seeking a seasoned localization specialist to bridge English and Japanese in platform development projects. You will translate technical documentation, interpret in meetings, and contribute to localization program health.

The role requires 2–6 years in translation, familiarity with memoQ, and strong Japanese-English fluency, plus experience with XML/HTML tagging and version control. Onsite work with travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Two to six years of translation experience.
• Proficiency with translation management systems such as memoQ.
• Fluency in Japanese and English (oral and written).
• Knowledge of XML/HTML tagging.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Kanban.
• Experience liaising with international offices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between Nintendo Co., Ltd. and Nintendo Technology Development teams.
• Translate documentation between Japanese and English for technical subjects.
• Interpret in meetings between NTD and NCL.
• Drive translation quality initiatives and process improvements.
• Identify issues in localization processes and propose solutions.
• Contribute to localization program roadmaps and project plans.
• Train and mentor others in translation and proofing procedures.
• Coordinate workload and schedules with localization staff.
• Coordinate with NCL, subsidiaries, and external partners.
• Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
