Job summary

PSSL ProSound and Stage Lighting is looking for a Technical Lighting Specialist in Miami, Florida. This role involves creating and modifying lighting system software, demonstrating systems to clients, and performing programming and testing.

As a Technical Lighting Specialist, you will create and modify Lighting system software by converting requirements into a functional user interface and control programming. You will also install control programs and touch panel design onsite, offsite, and remotely.

Your day will look like this:
  • Read and interpret Lighting systems drawings.
  • Demonstrate completed system to clients, answering all questions and ensure the systems meet the client’s requirements.
  • Create new programming and user interfaces.
  • Perform commissioning and acceptance testing of lighting programming.
  • Create end-user and programming-related documentation.
  • Maintain and update programming in installed systems.
  • Maintain control code in version control repository
  • Travel to various job sites required.
  • Other duties as assigned
Your profile:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a programmer or installation technician in the lighting industry is desired.
  • ETC Paradigm Programming Certifications
  • Experience with ETC Architectural lighting systems
  • Strong lighting controls and network troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent communication skills with employees, clients, and colleagues, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization and independently.
  • Proficient in uploading and downloading software in embedded systems.
  • Advanced computer skills for the design, configuration, optimization, and operations of lighting equipment
  • Understanding of computer networking, firewalls, IT systems, and troubleshooting those systems
  • Exceptional organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Flexible schedule with being available during evenings and weekends, on occasion.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.

Work Requirements
  • Time will be spent in an office and construction site setting.
  • Flexible work hours to support operations.
  • Typical workweeks standard 40 hours but may also include overtime as needed.
  • Environment may be fast paced.
  • Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company driving standards.
  • Travel within the continental US required
