Job summary

Mach Industries is seeking a Library Technician to support the AFRL Technical Library by reserving, circulating, renewing and discharging books and materials. You will manage AFRL and Field Library inventory, and maintain records in library systems.

You will assist with catalogs, databases and indexes, ensuring accurate handling of materials and adherence to policies. This role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and security clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service/interpersonal communication skills
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience working with electronic library circulation, catalog systems, and various software programs
• Associate degree required
• Two - four years professional experience as a library technician
• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and ability to obtain a secret security clearance

Responsibilities

• Track and monitor all items circulated in and out of the AFRL Technical Library.
• Enter and updates records in Library systems daily.
• Enter and edits technical items into the Document Catalog.
• Provide assistance in the use of library catalogs, databases, and indexes to locate library materials.
• Sort, replace, rotate, and shelve books; preserve and store all library materials.
• Perform shelf inspections and remove damaged library materials.
• Use a computer to collect, compile, update, and create spreadsheets for usage statistics.
• Perform research to locate materials using library resources.
• Accurately circulate material within established library policies and procedures.
• Review and validate identification prior to registration and circulation.
