Technical Lead - System Solution Engineer

Thales India Engineering Competency Center (ECC) in Bangalore seeks a Solution Engineer for MCO equipment, to join the MCO engineering team.

This role involves engineering activities to demonstrate compliance and functionalities of equipment in response to design changes, maintaining form-fit-functionalities. Responsibilities include establishing impact analysis, performing simulation, analysis, and verification activities.

Context of Design in MCO activities for FLX Cockpit and Computers:
After initial certification, equipment undergoes design changes during serial production and support phases, mainly due to obsolescence, corrections for critical PRs, or enhancements. These changes range from minor component updates to significant redesigns requiring re-assessment of safety, qualification, and certification data, all subject to customer approval before release.

Our equipment includes Computers such as Flight Control, Flight Management, Display, Interactivity Control Panel, and Head-up Display, focusing on hardware changes like electronics and packaging.

Qualifications:

Equipment engineering or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant aeronautic experience. Higher qualifications like a postgraduate degree are desirable. Experience in civil avionics design is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Impact analysis of electronics design changes, including understanding documentation and proposing validation plans.
• Building simulations and analyses to secure customer approval.
• Preparing certification documentation and reviews.
• Performing testing and verification at the equipment level.
• Coordinating with stakeholders such as electronics engineers, environmental testing teams, manufacturing, configuration management, and project managers.

Skills & Experience:

• Strong knowledge in electronics design and development (analog and digital).
• Ability to analyze circuits, select components, and read schematic and layout files.
• Awareness of airworthiness and aeronautic safety standards (e.g., ARP4761, ARP4754).
• Experience with aeronautic standards like DO-160, DO-254, ARP4754, ARP4761, APQP.
• Troubleshooting skills on electronics and embedded hardware systems.
• Experience interfacing with test facilities for environmental and EMI/EMC testing.
• Familiarity with qualification test procedures and documentation.
• Fluency with configuration management tools and data repositories such as BDDP and PLM/TOL/GED.
• Experience in establishing design documentation and understanding mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of industrialization, production testing, and IVVQ processes.
• Proven leadership skills, organization, autonomy, and motivation to work within a multidisciplinary team.
