Job summary

ERock in Houston seeks an experienced software/engineering leader to turn complex, high‑level initiatives into actionable plans across software, infrastructure, and data science. You will ensure alignment with standards, review code, and drive reliable CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

You will run triage, post‑incident reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor engineers while exploring new technologies to keep our production systems resilient. Hybrid work is available at ERock.

Key Responsibilities

• Take complex, high-level initiatives and turn them into actionable plans, distributing work across engineers based on their strengths and expertise. Track progress and surface blockers across software, infrastructure, and data science.
• Hold the team to approved engineering standards and architecture, including code review, branching, release windows, and automated testing. Review work against documented standards and catch deviations before they reach production. Bring proposed changes with reasoning and trade-offs; implement once approved.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and environment management.
• Run triage, escalation, and post-incident review for production issues.
• Provide technical guidance and code review to engineers, and keep documentation current as the system changes.
• Move quickly and experiment with new technologies and approaches while maintaining the engineering discipline required for reliable, production-critical systems.
• Escalate risks, scope changes, and trade-offs early, with a recommendation.
• Other responsibilities as directed by supervisor.
