Job summary

Sand Technologies is seeking a Technical Lead to deliver production-level intelligent solutions and manage client relationships. You will work with data engineers, scientists, and software engineers across a distributed team, contributing hands-on while guiding architecture and delivery decisions.

The role requires cloud expertise in Azure and a background in frontend/backend tech stacks, with a track record of shipping complex projects in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a technical role, with at least 2 years in a technical lead capacity.
• Comfortable reviewing React/TypeScript frontend work, Python or .NET backend work, and Azure data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience delivering on Microsoft Azure — Event Hubs, Data Lake, Databricks, Digital Twins, AKS, and AI services.
• Able to translate technical trade-offs for non-technical stakeholders in regulated environments.
• Track record of setting engineering standards and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery across the full solution stack from data ingestion to API and apps, ensuring quality and security.
• Act as primary technical contact for the client, building relationships with engineering and operations teams.
• Lead and mentor a cross-functional squad of data engineers, data scientists, and software engineers; provide direction via code reviews and architecture decisions.
• Work with the Solution Architect to translate design into delivery decisions and manage technical risk.
• Contribute hands-on to delivery alongside leading the team, maintaining deep knowledge of the codebase and platform.
