Job summary

Nabors seeks a Technical Manager – Performance Products to lead developers and engineers turning roadmaps into technical solutions and sustaining the existing portfolio. You will shape architecture, guide delivery, and ensure security and reliability across products in field operations.

You will partner with Product Managers, oversee feasibility reviews, drive release readiness, and mentor teams to grow engineering capability while balancing debt, security, and operational needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5–8+ years of progressive experience in software, controls, automation, digital products, systems engineering, product development, or sustaining engineering in an industrial or technology environment.
• 2+ years of experience leading technical employees, project teams, or cross-functional engineering delivery with accountability for priorities and results.
• Demonstrated experience translating product requirements into technical plans and managing concurrent new-product and sustaining work.
• Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle, architecture and design review, DevOps or ticket-based work management, testing, release readiness, and production support.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product Managers to clarify roadmap intent, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, constraints, dependencies, and target outcomes for new and enhanced products.
• Translate approved product requirements into technical approaches, work breakdowns, estimates, sequencing, staffing plans, and delivery milestones for the technical team.
• Lead feasibility, architecture, and design reviews; document technical decisions, trade-offs, interfaces, risks, and ownership before development begins.
• Maintain a balanced delivery plan across new-product commitments, sustaining work, technical debt, security needs, and urgent operational issues.
• Direct technical execution from design through build, integration, verification, release readiness, and transition to operational support.
• Review technical deliverables and evidence, remove delivery barriers, and elevate material scope, schedule, quality, or resource risks to accountable stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Product Management, QA, DevOps, Operations, and other engineering groups to confirm requirements are met and releases are supportable.
