Job summary

Cummings Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of mechanical designs and analyses for an advanced, high-speed flight vehicle.

This exempt, full-time role requires directing a design team and interfacing with customers and manufacturing to ensure system integration. Ideal candidates will have a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 15–20 years of experience, expertise in CAD and analysis tools, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• MS or PhD is desired for advanced leadership.
• Proven experience leading a mechanical design team.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of mechanical designs and drawings to support hardware development life cycle.
• Collaborate with program engineering team or customer to develop mechanical system requirements.
• Perform static and dynamic structural analysis to validate performance requirements.
• Develop design solution presentations, trade studies, and interface with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Produce engineering documents and products to support customer requirements.
