Job summary

LaStellar Group's client, a high-growth fintech modernizing the syndicated loan market, is seeking a hands-on Lead Software Engineer for its real-time loan data platform in the United States. You'll own a product vertical, set technical direction with the Architects, and lead a squad of full-stack engineers building performant, secure applications used by major institutional clients.

This player-coach role means you write code, run code reviews, drive architecture decisions, and mentor the team

Qualifications

• 10+ years of full-stack development — Java/Spring Boot backend, React or Angular with TypeScript frontend.
• Proven experience leading technical projects or teams in an agile environment.
• Strong architecture, design pattern, and performance optimization skills.
• REST APIs, GraphQL, SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Git, Maven/Gradle, CI/CD pipelines.
• BS/BA in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own technical direction and delivery for your squad — quality, performance, scalability
• Lead architecture discussions, code reviews, and implementation decisions
• Build test automation across the stack and enforce engineering best practices
• Mentor engineers day-to-day and unblock the team
• Partner with Product and Project Managers on scope, timelines, and priorities
