Job summary

Globant is seeking an experienced Full Stack Java Lead Architect to drive end-to-end architecture for large-scale financial services applications. You will lead design sessions, set standards, and mentor delivery teams across Java backend, microservices, and modern frontend, ensuring secure, compliant solutions.

The role requires deep fintech domain experience, strong client interaction, and a track record of delivering high-performance systems.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software eng experience, incl. 5+ years in architect/lead roles.
• Deep Java (11+) and Spring Framework / Spring Boot expertise.
• Front-end experience with React/Angular or similar.
• Proven fintech architecture experience across banking, payments, or insurance.
• Hands-on RESTful API design and event-driven patterns (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
• Relational/NoSQL DB knowledge (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Cloud and containerization (AWS/Azure/GCP; Docker/Kubernetes).
• DevOps & CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and IaC.
• Consulting/professional services exposure incl. client-facing work.
• Security best practices incl. OAuth2/OIDC and secure coding.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder mgmt, and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution architecture for full-stack Java apps from requirements to production.
• Lead architecture design sessions with client stakeholders translating business needs into scalable tech solutions.
• Define architecture standards, design patterns, coding guidelines, and roadmaps.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across stack: Java/Spring, APIs, microservices, frontend.
• Architect for high availability, throughput, low latency with regulatory considerations.
• Guide cloud migration and modernization (AWS/Azure/GCP) with Docker/K8s and CI/CD.
• Conduct architecture and code reviews, tune performance, and address tech debt.
• Mentor onshore/offshore delivery pods and client-facing teams.
• Collaborate with CTOs and sponsors to shape technology strategy and roadmaps.
• Support presales: estimates, RFPs, PoCs, and technical pitches.
• Ensure compliance with SOX, PCI-DSS, GDPR, FFIEC as applicable.
• Stay current with emerging tech and evaluate relevance to client problems.
